Jake Farr
Jake is an Executive Coach and consultant with a proven track record over 18 years of working with senior leaders and their teams in business and government. Her early career was spent working in the voluntary sector, challenging the then accepted wisdom around working patterns and styles. She went on to become an in-house consultant and occupational psychologist in the Post Office before becoming independent in 2000. Since then she has successfully applied the principles of psychology, growth and change to organisations and individuals across the UK.
As an Executive Coach Jake works with leaders and their teams to enable them to see, access, and hone their natural strengths and help them to realise situations in which they can be authentic as well as highly effective. Jake works at depth with forward-looking intent. Her approach is also systemic and enables clients to navigate their development within their organisation and family context. Jake’s great warmth combines both edge and lightness as she works to raise her client’s self-awareness and impact as a leader, supporting them to get the best out of themselves and those around them. Jake’s methods are dynamic and inventive. A great believer in learning through different worlds, she has pioneered a leadership and team development process that takes people in to a professional recording studio to learn alongside musicians through a creative process. Widely applauded for its rigour and innovation she was runner up in her professions’ annual Practitioner of the Year award.
In recent years her clients have included communication and marketing directors, senior leaders and government officials across client organisations that include: BSkyB, NSPCC, SSE, Oxford Brookes University, Centrica Energy, British Gas, Airwair International, Red Consultancy, Abel & Cole, Diamond Trading Company, Improving Care, The Big Lottery Fund, Department for Business, Innovation & Skills, Department of Health and the Cabinet Office.
